One day we asked ourselves, hmm, if only there was a band who’ s name encapsulated an iconic Melbourne street which also happened to be along an iconic Melbourne route who had a typically route 86 sound… And then it came to us. The Smith Street Band!
These guys belted out a few of their tracks as passengers squeezed on to check out what the commotion was about. A booming voice from frontman Wil was backed up by a sneaky snare drum, a guitar and a Tram Sessions favourite – an old Casio keyboard (reportedly found at a tip)
Their sweet sounds had heaps of commuters reaching for their smartphones to record the event, and it’s a good thing we too had our camera because this was a good one!
